Beautiful instrument, and the violinist was fantastic.

The usual touch-ups, nothing crazy.

wow, what a good job with the DOF! just deep enough to capture in full detail the action of the hand. very nice job!
:iconmyndbyndr:
this is amazing.
nate, you couldnt have captured this better.
the depth is perfect, the exposure, the composition, the timing...its all just spot on.
the colours are so warm and inviting, like i can hear sounds of the songs being played.
and your border, although not new, feels fresh and is also incredibly fitting.
:+fav: all the way from me. you're gonna have to get me this in the source file ;) someone needs to make a print.

Thanks,

I had good models, and nice natural light. :)

Jesse showed me this, and I must agree with him; it's awesome! :) I absolutely love the way the neck and head of the violin reach out of the frame. That worked out incredibly well. The rich colors of the violin are beautiful, such a lovely instrument. I absolutely love the way you managed to capture the movement of one of the strings as he played. Just great. You've caught a lot of feeling in this shot, excellent job. :)
:iconvouler:
wow, thanks.

It was a nice shot to begin with, but it didn't have a hook. I was thinking about trying a filter or something, but couldn't come up with one I liked for this image. The breaking out of the frame thing has been done before, I know, but, I wanted to try, and I feel like it gave the image the extra push it needed.

thanks for the fav,

~Nate

Thankyou very much,

I'm really glad you like it :)

Very nicely done, Nate. Great DOF in this. The movement gives it a great feel as well. It's like the single note he's playing has been captured and is ringing on through the picture. Very awesome. I'm also glad you branched out of the border as well. I hate when the picture is too contained. Especially with something like this. You've gotten the viewer to interact with the picture on a different level by essentially bringing the violin into our "plane". Keep up the great work! This is definitely a fav. ;)

Wow thanks,

It's very cool to get a comment that someone really put some time into, and really looked to see what they liked about it. Hope I can do some more that you'll like!

Hey no problem! I try to put thought in every comment I give cuz lord knows I hate it when I only get the "hey, that's cool" comments on everything. I think comments should give you something to improve on or what the viewers are getting from the piece. At least that way you know when you're doing something right and if you're getting the message that you want to get across to them. Keep up the great work. I'll be watching. ;)
